"Once" A one - day workshop with Julia Shipley - River Arts Center, Morrisville|
Saturday, August 2, 2014, 9-1pm OR
Saturday, September 20, 2014, 9-1pm
Have you ever caught yourself beginning to recount an incredible memory, "Once, I was......" and then interrupted yourself, "You know, I really ought to write this down someday."?
River Arts is offering a one day "writing life stories" workshop designed to help anyone, from the novice to the New York Times columnist, hone, write and deliver a story. Arrive with a few stories you've been ordered to commit to paper by enthusiastic family members or arrive with no ideas at all, and only a vague notion that someday you might like to try to write. The first half of the workshop will involve discovering and drafting your story. The second half will involve polishing and developing your piece. You'll leave with a vital piece of writing plus inspiration and techniques to continue capturing your memorable stories on paper!
