Vt. State Police - 4:10 pm Fri Jun 13th, 2014
On Monday June 9th 2014 Troopers from the Williston Barracks were dispatched to a burglary on Barber Farm Road in Jericho. Upon arrival forced entry was observed through a side door.
During the course of the investigation it was determined that numerous pieces of jewelry to include precious metals and watches were stolen from the residence. While Troopers were on scene, other Troopers canvased the area precious metal shops to alert them to the recent burglary.
On Thursday June 12th upon speaking with numerous shop owners again, Troopers were advised of a male, later identified as Richard Bushey, who attempted to sell gold that was crushed with a hammer shortly after the burglary occurred. Bushey also attempted to sell a very unique watch that was also stolen from the residence. A search warrant was obtained for Bushey's residence and a subsequent search by Troopers and Officers from the Winooski Police Department did not recover the missing jewelry. Bushey was charged with possession of stolen property and burglary and then released.
Troopers are still trying to make contact with anyone that may have seen a black Saab 900 in the Jericho area on Monday afternoon. Anyone with any additional information about this burglary or any suspicious activity associated with this vehicle is encouraged to contact Trooper Benjamin Katz at the Williston State Police Barracks.
