WHAT: Free Fishing Day and Grand Isle Fishing Festival, Grand Isle, VT
Anyone, residents and nonresidents, may fish without a license on Free Fishing Day ... anywhere in Vermont. It's a great opportunity to get out together as a family or with friends to learn more about Vermont's great fishing opportunities.

Adults annually bring several hundred kids to the Grand Isle Fishing Festival where many youngsters will have a first-time fishing experience.

WHEN: Sat., June 14, 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.

WHERE: Grand Isle Fish Culture Station (fish hatchery), next to the Ferry Landing off Rt 314

WHO: As many as 500 or more people, families with little kids, will be learning about fishing and fishing for big trout in a pond at the hatchery. Volunteer instructors and Vermont Fish and Wildlife staff will be teaching how to cast, how to tie knots, fish species identification, how to clean fish, and more. Fish culture program chief Adam Miller will be there for interviews (cell phone above).
