Missing/Lost Child

Vt. State Police - 10:10 pm Tue Jul 9th, 2013

The victim, Tyler Hartley, was reported missing by his grandfather, John Moore, of Hewitt Hill Road in Pomfret, VT.

Moore indicated that Tyler was at an adjacent property located approximately one half mile from his residence on Hewitt Hill Road when he attempted to walk back to grandfather's residence with his two brothers. Tyler became separated from his brothers who returned to Moore's residence around 2:00 PM and the family initiated a search of the area without finding him. Moore contacted Pomfret Emergency Management at 6:52 PM to report Tyler missing prompting the response of the Pomfret and Barnard Fire Departments along with Troopers from the Royalton Barracks, to include a K-9 Unit. Searches were organized in the immediate area where Tyler was last seen and the area properties were checked. A responding member of the Barnard Fire Department located Tyler near the intersection of Broad Brook Road and Allen Hill Road at 7:50 PM and a Trooper was sent to bring Tyler back to his grandfather's residence where he was returned to his family uninjured, but very tired.
