Vt. colleges helping vets adjust to student life

Colleges and universities across Vermont are working to ease the transition of Iraq and Afghanistan war veterans becoming students with special programs and workshops tailored to their experiences.

They're hiring special counselors, encouraging teachers to recognize special issues veterans face and find ways to make sure veterans get the benefits they're entitled to.

The Vermont National Guard is also working with its members to ensure they get the education benefits they are entitled to.
