McKennis Ramps Up
Alice McKennis knows what it takes to come back from a serious injury; she's done it before. Less than two months after her first career World Cup win in St. Anton, the 23-year-old crashed in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, shattering her tibial plateau and fracturing her tibia. Although McKennis successfully rehabilitated a similar injury in 2011 and went on to achieve career-best results, this go-round is proving quite a bit more difficult, but she's got her game face on. Mammoth Set for Pre-Olympic Camp
The U.S. Ski and Snowboard Association has named Mammoth Mountain as an Official Training Ground for U.S. Freeskiing and U.S. Snowboarding, providing valuable spring and fall training camps for U.S. athletes through 2019 including Olympics in Sochi and PyeongChang. U.S. Freeskiing and U.S. Snowboarding Pro Teams will be based at Mammoth Mountain's Unbound Terrain Park this November to prepare for the Olympic season. Freeskiing and snowboarding athletes, along with members of the U.S. Alpine Ski Team including World Champions Ted Ligety and Mikaela Shiffrin, trained at Mammoth in May to kickoff the summer preparation season. Athlete Spotlight: Jessie Diggins
With nine U.S. Junior titles and three Minnesota State Championships titles, Jessie Diggins decided to take a year off between high school and college to focus on racing. That leap of faith continues to pay dividends today, as she landed a spot on the U.S. Ski Team and has become one of the best female skiers the U.S. has ever seen. The 2013 season was a monster for Diggins. The five-time U.S. Champion teamed up with teammate Kikkan Randall to win the USA's first-ever World Championships gold medal in the team sprint as well as the first-ever victory in a World Cup team sprint. When she wasn't making history, Diggins was putting up more impressive results, finishing 8th in the skate prologue of the World Cup finals and placing 21st in her first-ever Tour de Ski. Find out what keeps Jessie working her hardest here.

In her recent SkiTrax.com blog, Jessie shared that the athletes know that it takes team to be Best in the World. The secret weapon of the U.S. Ski Team isn't advanced equipment - it's team chemistry. From the wax technicians to the World Champion skiers, everyone is an equally valuable part o the Team. Team has long been one of the core values of the USSA and it's great to see athletes using them to succeed.
