Capital City Concerts presents virtuoso violinist Rachel Barton Pine with pianist Matthew Hagle on Saturday, June 1 at 7:30PM at the Unitarian Church of Montpelier.

Rachel Barton Pine has appeared as soloist with many of the world's most prestigious orchestras, including the Chicago, Atlanta, St. Louis, Dallas, Baltimore, Montreal, Vienna, and the Philadelphia Orchestras. She holds top prizes from the J.S. Bach (gold medal), Queen Elisabeth, Paganini, Kreisler, Szigeti, and Montreal international competitions. She plays the Joseph Guarnerius del Gesu (Cremona 1742), known as the "ex-Soldat," violin on generous loan from her patron. She will perform works of Beethoven, Strauss, a set of lullabies by Brahms, Ysaye, Clark, and Still, as well as the Egyptian-flavored Sonata for Solo Violin, a piece written for Rachel Barton Pine by Arab-American composer Mohammed Fairouz.
