N/A - Fire



Vt. State Police - 10:40 am Wed May 29th, 2013

On 5/28/13 at approximately 3:44 PM the Georgia Fire Department responded to a fire at 2466 Oakland Station Road in Georgia. The fire was reported by a passing motorist who called 911. The St.

Albans Town and Fairfax Fire Departments responded as mutual aid. When the fire departments arrived they were advised the house had been abandoned and no one was living in the residence. The fire department found the front of the residence fully involved in fire. No one was injured as a result of the fire. The house is a complete loss and the damage estimates are in excess of $60,000.00.
The Georgia Fire Department contacted the Vermont State Police and requested an origin and cause fire investigation be conducted. A detective from the State Police Fire Investigation Unit and an Investigator with the Division of Fire Safety responded to the scene on 5/29/13.
The exact cause of the fire is still being investigated but the fire is accidental and is not considered suspicious.
