Johnson ed. students can get dual licensure

A bachelor's degree in childhood education at Johnson State College now enables students to become endorsed for both elementary education and special education licensure in four years.

Previously, an endorsement in special education was available only to students who completed graduate study in that specialty.

David McGough, chair of Johnson State's Education Department, called "inclusive elementary education" a "major enhancement of our teacher-education programs."
