Police warn of phone scams

Vermont State Police are warning area residents to watch out for "too good to be true" phone scams.

On the morning of Jan. 24, police took a complaint from a Waterbury resident who said he had received a call from a male subject who spoke broken English and advised him that he had won a new car, $2 million, $150,000 in cash and a prize worth around $2,000. The caller said he would drop off the car at his residence that day.
