Vermont's 40-inch December snowfall was worth more than $250,000 an inch, Development Commissioner Elbert G. Moulton said.

Ski business brought in more than $10 million for the month which was labeled "the greatest ever enjoyed by Vermont's ski industry."

... Many of Vermont's ski areas have been operating continuously since mid-November when the state was blessed with some of the earliest heavy snowfall in living memory.
