ReBuild Waterbury looks back on 15 months of Irene recovery work
ReBuild Waterbury was launched in early October 2011, a month after flooding from Tropical Storm Irene laid waste to much of Waterbury village, as well as homes and businesses along Route 2 and in North Duxbury.

Now, 15 months later, the group's two staff members - construction manager Dave Kerr and volunteer coordinator Mame McKee - and steering committee members, including its chair Theresa Wood, are finishing up work.

Over that time, they have helped 104 households in Waterbury, Duxbury and Moretown and distributed almost $1 million in donations, two-thirds of it from local fundraising.
