Well, by now, it's likely you've heard that our Opening Day has been postponed to Saturday, December 15th. That is, unless you've been hiding under a snow covered rock...in which case let us know where that rock is, maybe we could ski and ride down it together?
All kidding aside, we're hopeful that the coming week brings us some consistent cooler temps so we can get down to stacking up more snow. On Wednesday afternoon we were able to get back to making snow after a few days of being put on pause. Wednesday did bring an inch of natural snow as well. We have been able to get snow on the middle sections of the mountain as of Thursday, and we'll continue to work on this. We're looking at a window of cold weather until about midday Friday, and then a potential warm day, which according to several forecasts, should be exiting by Monday evening. Our extended forecast is showing highs next week topping out in the mid-twenties.
If your skis or board are starting to stare at you or send you subliminal messages, you're not alone....just reassure them snow is on the way. In the meantime, we will keep you posted with updates on our snow making progress.
We hate to nag you. We know you have a busy schedule--what between the stressful projects at work, carting the kids to the doctor appointment, and, of course, your sword swallowing lessons. But, in the midst of all the hustle and bustle, make a little time to get yourself a Powder Pass.
Time is actually running out! The Powder Pass will not be available after December 14th. For just $199 for adults and $149 for youth/college/senior, you'll get five All Access Lift Tickets that you can use any day during the 2012-13 season - with no blackout dates. And, you may redeem multiple tickets in one day.
Another great option is the 2012-2013 Bolton Valley All Access Season Pass, which is on sale now.
Now, that sounds like a deal worth putting down your sword for, right?
It was great seeing so many of you out at SlopeStyle Ski and Ride this week for our first Pop Up Sale! If you missed it, you have one final opportunity to snag yourself a $39 All Access Lift Ticket.
Come join us at Onion River Sports in Montpelier this Friday December 7th starting at 4 pm. We have 250 tickets left to sell, and the sale will run until 7, or when all the tickets are gone, whichever comes first. So you can plan ahead, please note, there is a two ticket limit per customer.
With Opening Day around the corner, check out this deal: From now until Friday December 21st, tuning services will be 50% off at BV Sports.
All you need to do is bring in a non-perishable (and non-expired) food item to take advantage of the half off prices! All donations will go directly to the Richmond Food Shelf. Check out the Richmond Food Shelf website to see what items are in high demand this year.
So help a neighbor and get your gear in great shape at a great price. Here is what you can expect to spend after your 50% discount:
- Basic Tune with Binding Test: $15.00
- Basic Tune: $10.00
- Quick Waxes: $5.00
Flair for the dramatic? Here's a great chance to ski and ride on the cheap (and by cheap we mean FREE). For the brave among us, come to Bolton Valley on Sunday, December 16th dressed in your very best Kris or Kristine Kringle attire.
To earn your free lift ticket, you must be completely committed to your role as Santa. We're not talkin' a little red hat here. No, it's go big or go home, full Santa regalia: red suit, hat, and trademark beard. Clearly we encourage a sack full of presents, but that's your call.
And speaking of holiday spirit, right around the corner is Happy Holidays Week. This is an annual December tradition which will take place December 17th-25th. This year we will be dropping lift ticket prices to $25 per day and Nordic day ticket prices drop to only $5.
And here's yet another holiday gift. It's that one wrapped carefully and hidden behind the desk, ala Ralphie's Red Ryder BB gun, but I digress. We're also offering a Happy Holidays Lodging Package. From December 16th through the night of December 24th, you can ski-and-stay on the mountain for as little as $58 per person.
Come celebrate the holidays here at Bolton Valley!
Nothing says Opening Day like a burger and a brew. To kick off the weekend, and celebrate the end of the work week, come to the James Moore Tavern. We will be open Friday, December 14th from 5-10 pm. The bar will be open for roughly an hour after food service stops.
Head up the hill for some great eats and good company, where everybody knows your name...or will by January at least! See you at the tavern.
Thanks again for reading. Looking very forward to seeing all of you in the tavern on the 14th and on the slopes the next morning.
