Summit on Defending Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid

Nov. 15 - Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) and members of the U.S. Senate Defending Social Security Caucus will hold a summit today to discuss legislative and grassroots efforts protect Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid.

Sen. Sanders founded the Defending Social Security Caucus and has been the leading the fight to protect the funding for Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid. "The idea of balancing the budget on the backs of some of the most vulnerable people in our country - the elderly, orphans, widows and disabled veterans - is not only morally grotesque, it is extremely bad economics," Sanders said.
