Community turns out for storytelling event

Stowe Reporter - 9:41 am Fri Oct 26th, 2012

The Stowe Education Fund held its annual storytelling and pumpkin-carving contest on Friday, Oct. 5.

Stowe Theatre Guild opened the doors of the Town Hall Theatre so more than 80 children of all ages and their families could listen to kindergarten teachers Jeff Dacales and Beth Bradford read their favorite fall stories. Everyone enjoyed fall refreshments by the light of the jack-o'-lanterns on the steps of the Akeley Memorial Building.

Pumpkin-carving contest winners this year were: Gavin Lund, Tage Burgess, Chase Newhouse, Sophia Fortenberry, Matthew Fortenberry and Hamish Hunter.
