"For those who miss 'The Twilight Zone' or love quirky little comedies,
Vermont Stage's 'Boom' is a delight."
Alex koch in Boom

As we are about to begin our final week of BOOM, I thought I'd include a few audience reviews for you to check out:

"Boom was a blast! This is a little play that offers fast-paced, comic entertainment and displays inventive stagecraft, while challenging the mind and the heart to come to important realizations. The college-age crowd that filled the FlynnSpace seats the night I saw the show clearly enjoyed the show as much as I did. I wonder if they are still thinking about what they heard and saw. I know I am. Congratulations to the director and her artistic team and to the cast. Well done."
- Nick Clary

"As an extremely biased supporter of VSC and an occasional member of the acting company, I've got to say BOOM is a great evening of theatre. You've heard it called quirky and risky. It is both of those but the only real risk is missing this show! It is tight and precise with great energy from the first word of dialogue. Three engaging performers will guide you to the end of the world and you'll laugh on the journey. "
- Paul Ugalde

"Nathan and I both LOVED the show. Hilarious and strange. Congratulations!"
- Abbie Tycocki

and its risk-taking

"The play is laudable for making a risky wager: that imagining humanity's near-extinction and resurrection can inspire an hour's worth of laughter. Because this production gambles with such gusto, the show pays off. The planet's destruction plays as more fun than frightening."
 - Seven Days

"In opting for the Peter Sinn Nachtrieb script, Alicea shows that she's not afraid to stage productions that are bizarre, profane, subtly funny and, above all, risky... This is a play that requires patience. The ending provides a nice surprise that answers a lot of those nagging questions rattling around in the audience's collective brain since Jules and Jo first laid eyes on each other. It raises a few questions, too, and tenderly brings its own curious mind into the science vs. creationism debate that ebbs and flows throughout modern American discourse."
- The Burlington Free Press

"This first production bodes well for Alicea's second season at the helm of Burlington's only full-season professional theater company.  For those who miss "The Twilight Zone" or love quirky little comedies, Vermont Stage's "Boom" is a delight."

Molly Kurent
"Business as Usual?" by Molly Kurent

Here's a short blog on Molly's transition here and her excitement to continue her collaboration with UVM students through her new position at Vermont Stage.

"When making the decision to move on from my position at the Department of Theatre at UVM after nine seasons, I told my husband Jim to fear not. I was not looking to take another job in theatre. I was looking for more of a "normal" business job with regular hours and a lot less stress..." read more
