Lunch with Chuck ~ Brown Bag Discussion Series Part II Stowe Vermont

The Stowe Historical Society is continuing its brown-bag lunch series held last winter and spring. Over the past two years, volunteer Chuck Dudley has conducted extensive research about the history of Stowe buildings. He has expanded his research to include properties outside "Stowe Center Village."

The one-hour talks begin at noon in the Stowe Free Library community meeting room. Bring a lunch.

  • Oct. 15: Stowe lower village, also known as the Mill Village.
  • Nov. 19: Pucker Street and Brush Hill; the early settlers, Pucker Street School, and the 1811 aqueduct.
  • Jan. 14: The early history of Stowe will be discussed, including the 1763 Charter.
  • Feb. 4: Gold Brook (formerly Hull's Brook) and Stowe Hollow; the search for gold.
  • Feb. 25: Mountain Road; continuation of lodging research by Jan Griffiths.
  • March 11: The development of Center Village, Mill Village, Upper Village, and Moscow.
