Greetings from General Stark Mountain,

The foliage is really starting to pop and the mountain is absolutely magnificent right now.

Perfect timing as we head into our first weekend of foliage rides. Check out the latest video from the summit.  We sure hope that you can make it up for a visit over the next couple weeks. Don't forget that now is the time to take advantage of Vermont's best ski values. Check out all the pre-season deals available right now. Passes & Mad Cards On Sale Now!

The best way to save money on skiing Mad River Glen is to take advantage of our great Pre-season Deals. Here are some of the highlights.

 

Passes

Mad Cards


    • MAD CARD $144 Get's you 3 transferable day tickets that can be used any day throughout the 2012-13 season. That's only $48/day ($21 savings off a weekend ticket - $24 off a holiday ticket). Plus additional savings all season.
    • FAMILY MAD CARD $194 Gets you 3 transferable day tickets PLUS Free Kid's Pass for all your kids age 12 and under.


NEW for 2013

  • Threesome College Pass $359 Unlimited access to Mad River Glen, Sugarbush Lincoln Peak, and Sugarbush Mt. Ellen
  • 20's Passes $199 or $399   Skiers under age 30 can get a Mad River Glen 20's Midweek Pass for only $199. These folks can also opt for a Sugarbush's "For 20's" pass with the Add Mad" upgrade which gives unrestricted access to both of Sugarbush's mountains and midweek (holiday periods included) at Mad River Glen for $399.
  • No Holiday Blackout Dates for MRG's Midweek Passes
Celebration of Foliage at MRG

Mad River Glen's always kicks off the upcoming ski season with a Celebration of Fall Foliage.  Save the dates - here's a rundown of what's going on;


Fall Foliage Weekend - Sept. 29 & 30

  • Foliage Rides 10 AM to 2 PM
  • SIPtemberfest Beer Tasting Festival - Saturday 11 AM to 5 PM
    Tickets are almost gone for Saturday so be sure to act now. New this year there will be a SIPtemberfest Meet the Brewers Dinner & Tasting beginning at 6:30 on Friday night too. Four courses of delicious food prepared by Chef Michael Witzel of Mad River Glen, paired with beers hand-selected by Sean Lawson of Lawson's Finest Liquids and Mike Gerhart of Otter Creek Brewing. Tickets are $60 each and are very limited so get your tickets NOW!

Green & Gold Weekend - October 6 & 7
Saturday

  • Foliage Rides 10 AM to 2 PM
  • Mountain Work Day 9 AM
    Join Jay Appleton & his crew helping to maintain MRG's forest and epic woods skiing lines.
  • Stark Mountain Hill Climb Running Race - 10 AM
    Run from the base to the summit of Gen. Stark Mountain taking any route you wish. All proceeds support the Stark Mountain Foundation's maintenance and trail work on the Long Trail on Stark Mountain.
  • MRG Homeowners Association Meeting 3-4:30 PM
  • Co-op Shareholders Informational Town Meeting 5-6 PM

Sunday

  • Traditional Green & Gold Chicken BBQ 11 AM
  • Allen Clark Memorial Hill Climb Bike Race 8:30 AM Registration 10 AM Start
     

Foliage Weekend Details:

  • Foliage Lift Rides - 10 AM to 2:30 PM each day
  • Lift rides are $10 for adults, $5 for children. Kids under 6 and over 70, Season pass holders and Co-op shareholders ride the lift free both weekends!
  • The Ticket/Season Pass office will be open each day from 10AM to 4 PM
  • Gen. Stark's Pub & Cafeteria Open for Lunch - 11 AM-4 PM
  • Visit the MRG General Store 10 AM to 4 PM
Kids Programs at MRG
Space is Limited Sign Up Today!

No one produces great young skiers better than the  MRG Seasonal Kids ProgramsWe are all looking forward to more adventures and fun with your kids. Our Seasonal Program Director, Dave Knoop, is excited to continue improving our program. Ry Young is returning as the Freeskiing Team Head Coach and is looking forward to building on the teams phenomenal success.  There are so many options for your child and no matter which program you choose, our veteran staff is pumped up for a rewarding season of fun and adventure with the hopes of inspiring a passion for skiing and MRG!

 

Another program option to consider for your kids is the Mad River Ski Club Junior Race Program. The Ski Club has a vibrant and rich racing history at MRG. The race program for 6-15 year olds is a terrific balance of traditional training and adventure on Mad River Glen's challenging terrain under the tutelage of Mad River Ski Club coaches. With age appropriate groups, a dedicated staff and a structured season, athletes are sure to have fun and develop great skiing skills. Learn more about the program or feel free to contact Race Director and Head Coach, Jim Komarmi via email at race@madriverglen.com .

Co-op Notes

There will be a special Shareholder's 's Town Hall Meeting on Saturday October 6th at 5 PM. This will be an exciting meeting as the board will unveil the architectural renderings of the proposed Base Area Master Plan. Click here to learn more about it.

Very Cool New Tye Dye

Twenty-six renowned Vermont artists have contributed their art to help support the services offered by Hannah's House including counseling, parenting workshops, art therapy, neurofeedback training, and financial assistance for therapy. The Round Barn Farm has graciously included the Hannah's House benefit in the 22nd Annual Art in the Round Barn Show on Sept. 17th to Oct. 8th.
