Acting the Fight! - Stage Combat Workshop Montpelier Vermont

Acting the Fight! - Stage Combat Workshop
For students, actors, teachers, and directors, ages 16+
An Actor approach to stage violence stressing character, collaboration and storytelling. The focus of this intensive is Unarmed Combat: hand-to-hand, trips, shoves as well as comic pratfalls. This more advanced class will also focus on choreographic concepts. Group & Individual instruction are part of the process.

Taught by NYC & Broadway fight director Dan Renkin.
Dan has staged the fights and physical storytelling for LNT's The Miracle Worker, Romeo & Juliet, God of Carnage and Midsummer Night's Dream; and contributed to (and acted as fight captain for) Richard III, Taming of the Shrew, Moonlight and Magnolias.
He teaches for Circle in the Square and American Film Academy among many others.

With safety first and foremost, learn hand to hand combat skills, storytelling without text, safety precautions and tricks of the trade. Tumble, trip, toss and tease! If you're working on a scene requiring physical storytelling, share it and get Dan's expert advice.

Class Dates & Times: Saturday October 20, 2:00 - 5:00pm; and Sunday October 21, 2:00 - 4:00pm.
Fee: $75 (includes both sessions. participants must attend both sessions.)
