Vt. State Police - 1:10 pm Tue Sep 4th, 2012

On 9/2/12 at approximately 1650 hrs the Berkshire Fire Department responded to a trailer fire on Mineral Brook Road in Berkshire. When the fire department arrived they met with the home owner who advised a trailer used for storage was on fire.

The home owner was able to extinguish the majority of the fire with a fire extinguisher. The fire department quickly extinguished the remaining fire. Minor damage was done to the storage trailer. No one was hurt as a result of the fire and damages are estimated to be less than $200.00.
The Berkshire Fire Department contacted the Vermont State Police. A Trooper from the St. Albans Barracks responded to the scene. State Police have identified the person responsible for starting the fire but the case is still under investigation at this time.
This fire is not related to the fires that occurred in Enosburg and Fairfield on 8/31/12.
