Joel Gouin, Northeast Regional Correctional Facility - Drug Possession

On 03/23/2012, inmate Joel Gouin was staying in a dry cell for suspicion of having contraband. A correctional officer entered the cell at approximately 14:50 hours and could smell feces.

After questioning Gouin, the officer recovered a slug containing marijuana. A slug is an object swallowed or put into the rectum of an inmate to hide the contraband. This particular slug contained several balls in a balloon wrapped in electrical tape containing marijuana. Gouin was cited on 05/17/2012 to appear on 07/30/2012. Prisoner Gouin is serving time for the prior convictions and is scheduled to be released prior to this offense going to court.
