The Vermont Cheerleading State Championships will be held Saturday, March 3 at Vergennes Union High School in Vergennes, Vermont.

f15robyn@aol.com Seventeen teams will vie for state titles in two divisions. The competition for all divisions is slated to begin at 4:00 p.m., with awards tentatively scheduled for 5:45 p.m. The divisions for cheerleading are sorted by team size, placing large teams in Division I and smaller teams in Division II. Essex High School will seek to repeat as the Division I champion against a competitive field, including perennial contender Rutland, and strong teams from BFA St. Albans and Vergennes. Defending Division II state champion BFA Fairfax will take on a field of seven other teams in Division II. Tickets for the championships are $7 for adults and $5 for students and seniors. Tickets can be purchased at the door. Doors open to the public at 2:00 p.m. For those fans that cannot be in Vergennes on Saturday, we are pleased to announce that once again, the cheerleading state championships will be webcast live at NSNSports.net.
