Burns discusses youth conservation corps

Stowe Reporter - 9:38 am Fri Jul 29th, 2011

Cailie Burns, volunteer coordinator of the Vermont Youth Conservation Corps, spoke with Morrisville Rotary about summer programs offered by the organization.

She said that for the past 25 years a trained leader and several teenagers have held summer positions at Vermont state parks and other public areas working on needed conservation or trail-building projects.

The youth conservation corps was formed in 1985 to give at-risk high school youth an outdoor experience with related math and science skills to enable them to complete high school.
