The Vermont House voted 99-44 Thursday to approve a bill that would allow for the creation of four medical marijuana dispensaries to serve the state's hundreds of patients.
The Senate, which had passed the bill in April on a 25-4 vote, on Friday gave final approval to changes made by the House.
"I'm also concerned that we are, under the definition of aiding and abetting, becoming aiders and abetters of criminal activity." said Rep. Duncan Kilmartin (R-Newport) speaking against the bill. For speaking the truth, Kilmartin was accused of being derogatory and insulting by Democrats who typically can't handle truth.
Marijuana is not a harmless drug, but due to its wide spread use and the fact that it is seen as no more harmful than, say, caffeine, has become America's most dangerous drug. There is nothing unique, liberating, or creative about smoking pot which leads its users into a conformist, useless lifestyle, not to mention the negative effects on one's health.
It certainly is no medicine and will do much more harm than good for those who use the excuse that they need marijuana to put them out of their misery.
Rep. Kilmartin is absolutely right. Vermont is creating a whole new class of criminals with medical marijuana, and now dispensaries, which violate federal law. Isn't it curious that all the evidence pointing to increased crime in neighborhoods where there are medical marijuana dispensaries and evidence pointing to the negative health effects of marijuana are labelled as 'myths' by the pro-drug crowd? Of course the actual myths, the alleged benefits of smoking pot, are propagandized by them as 'facts'.
