The Bones of Prose: Remembering How to Write the Elegant Sentence Morrisville Vermont

In the age of tweets and blanguage (blog-language), a well crafted fully formed sentence is a rare and beautiful thing. Celebrate, study and rediscover the essential ingredient of all good prose, the sentence, in this two session workshop. We will examine exemplary sentences from literature, discuss the basic anatomy of a sentence, and go over the three basic kinds of sentence structures, with special emphasis on the cumulative sentence. Students will also be encouraged to bring in examples of both superlative and damaged sentences to share.
