3 Vermonters Aim: Provide Laptops for Haiti

By the end of the year, someone in Haiti with chickens should be able to connect over the Web with a neighbor who's interested in buying them.

That basic connection - between two people seeking to engage in commerce - is the main focus of three Vermonters who are turning their vision for an innovative use of technology into reality in the earthquake-ravaged island nation.

Jason Duquette-Hoffman, a Rutland High School graduate, and two colleagues formed the nonprofit webPrentice International this month, based in his Middlebury home.
