Snowboard Bindings Recall Near Completion

Waterbury Record - 1:51 pm Fri May 21st, 2010

Rome Snowboard Design Syndicate has almost finished recalling some of its snowboard bindings.

The snowboard manufacturer, which has been based in Waterbury since 2001, recalled about 3,000 snowboard bindings in late December, after a chemical reaction in the manufacturing process caused some of the bindings to break in cold weather.

"The bulk of the bindings have been returned and destroyed," said Paul Maravetz, co-owner of the company, also known as Rome SDS.
