Credit Card Bill Stalls in Senate

A legislative effort to regulate the fees credit card companies charge store owners collapsed on the Senate floor Tuesday.

Lawmakers from both major parties raised questions about the bill's unintended consequences. Senate President Pro Tem Peter Shumlin pulled the bill off the floor for consideration early in the afternoon after about 45 minutes of debate.
