Another Messy Morning, With Better Weather On The Way

We have one more ugly morning to get through, in what has been a stretch of forgettable spring weather. But our patience should be rewarded shortly, as morning drizzle ends before lunchtime, leaving us with harmless cloudy skies for most of the day. Highs won't vary that much from where they are right now, topping out in the mid-40s, while winds become north and diminish. Improving weather will continue overnight, and Thursday should be a stunner: sunny, 60F, and light winds.

We have 3 lifts on the schedule today: the Vista Quad at 9am, Snowflake and Mitey Mite at 10am. Those lifts will serve 42 open trails, though Patrol will monitor our softening conditions, and that count may change. As a result of warm and wet weather last night, our mighty groomers only touched about 10 trails before dawn, leaving soft and wet spring surfaces that may be firm in places early this morning. Ungroomed terrain is more variable. And the Jungle Jib, Progression Park, and Butterscotch Park are all available for you daredevils.

Don't forget our spring ticket deals: all lift tickets are just $29 for the rest of the season. And next year's Alpine and Nordic Season Passes are now on sale, with prices increasing after April 4th.

The skiing on our Nordic terrain is also in true spring form. The machines were kept off the trails again last night, leaving us with the 5km of skate grooming that was done Sunday. Coverage is variable in places, with some challenging conditions that are best left to adventurous or expert skiers. Better coverage is found in the higher elevations while exploring our 80km of ungroomed backcountry. The wax of the day will be Klister.

Obviously, the ski season can't end with a full week of messy weather. By this afternoon, we'll already be putting the past three days of gray raininess behind us, as we prepare for sensational spring weather straight through the weekend. Enjoy.

The conditions below are our projections for Wednesday, March 31st as of 6:40am. For the latest updates on trail openings, snow surfaces, and lift status, please check our online Snow Report. And while you're over there, swing by the Photo Gallery for visual evidence of our most recent conditions.
