Bolton Valley Snow Report - March 30, 2010 Bolton Vermont

March is Going Out a Bit on the Wet Side

March seems determined to end on a wet note as we will see rain again today. Highs will reach the lower 40s and the skiing will most likely be best in that mid-morning sweet spot where overnight temps have warmed up a bit, but not so warm and wet that the snow turns sticky, which is what we will most likely experience by late afternoon. Winds will be gusty out the East in the 20-30mph range. With only six more days of skiing in the season, you need to get it while you can, so skiing is once again advised as a more fun alternative to working.

We plan to spin 3 lifts today, beginning at 9am with the Vista Quad, followed by Snowflake and Mitey Mite at 10am. We should have true spring surfaces across 42 open trails, with conditions softening as temps rise. Our groomers got to about 20 trails overnight providing for smooth surfaces to start the day on those trails. Ungroomed terrain will be variable. Base depths remain deep enough to keep most all terrain off of the Vista Quad open for skiing and riding. For terrain parks, we have the Jungle Jib, Progression Park, and Butterscotch park all available.

Don't forget our spring ticket deals: all lift tickets are just $29 for the rest of the season. And next year's Alpine and Nordic Season Passes are now on sale, with prices increasing after April 4th.

Spring conditions reign on our Nordic terrain, as well. The machines stayed off our trails again last night, leaving us with the 12km of skate grooming and classic tracks from Sunday morning. Elsewhere, our 80km of ungroomed backcountry remains open for exploring on skis or snowshoes, with variable spring surfaces. The wax of the day will be Klister.

The conditions below are our projections for Tuesday, March 30th as of 7:10am. For the latest updates on trail openings, snow surfaces, and lift status, please check our online Snow Report. And while you're over there, swing by the Photo Gallery for visual evidence of our most recent conditions.
