Vermont Field Hockey Earns Academic Accolades Burlington Vermont

The University of Vermont field hockey team had seven student-athletes named to the National Field Hockey Coaches Association Division I National Academic Squad, announced on Friday.

The Catamounts were also one of 63 Division I field hockey teams to record a team GPA of 3.0 or higher.

Seniors Kristen Heavens (Harwinton, Conn.) and Megan Maynard (Waterbury Center, Vt.) led the way for Vermont, as they were each named to the team for the fifth consecutive season.

Senior Chelsea Stevenson (Crosswicks, N.J.) picked up the honor for the fourth time, while junior Jenna Horowski (Zionsville, Pa.) was named to the squad for a third straight season. Wrapping up the Catamounts honored were sophomore Mackenzie Williams (Rome, N.Y.) and junior Julie Moy (Fishkill, N.Y.), who each made the team for a second time, and sophomore Alana Izzo (Stowe, Vt.) who made her first appearance.
