A young boy helps his great-great-grandfather recover his stolen magical instrument in Smith's new book.

An extraordinary adventure of a young boy and his great-great-grandfather and their mission to recover a precious musical instrument await in Peggy Smith's new book. Released through Xlibris, Oliver and The Magic Violin takes readers back in time through a tale of fantasy mixed with reality.

Since he was born, nine-year-old Oliver always spent his summers in the house of his great-great-grandfather, Ole Bull, on the island of Lysoen. Ole Bull was a famous Norwegian violinist in the 1800's, who was said to have played the violin better than anyone in the entire world.

One day, as Oliver was sitting eating his dinner, the portrait of his great-great grandfather suddenly winks at him. Later, Oliver is awakened by a fairy and Neissaman - an elf-like creature of Norway folklore - who beckon him to follow them to a fjord where a gigantic swan awaits to take him on the adventure of his life. Oliver meets Ole Bull, and together, they embark on a journey of recovering Ole's stolen magical violin.

Smith invites readers to hop in a silver Viking ship and join Oliver and Ole Bull as they meet some unsavory characters along the way, in pursuit of a thief who plans on using the violin's magic for evil. Will Oliver be able to help his great-great-grandfather and return safely back home? Oliver and The Magic Violin tells all.
