Vermont Vernal Pool Mapping Project Training Workshop Huntington Vermont

The Vermont Center for Ecostudies biologist Steve Faccio and Arrowwood Environmental ecologist Michael Lew-Smith will lead this training designed for people who would like to learn how to identify and survey vernal pools. Landowners, foresters, town officials and volunteers, and anyone with an interest in helping out with the Vermont Vernal Pool Mapping Project are welcome. Steve and Michael will start the evening with a brief introduction to the ecology of vernal pools and will discuss the mapping project, including opportunities for volunteers. We will then visit an active vernal pool and learn how to use field protocols for the mapping project, as well those used for documentation in the Use Value Appraisal Program.
