School budget revote set in Williamstown

Voters here will be asked next month to revisit their week-old decisions to slash $400,000 from an $8.1 million school budget request and to "pass over" an article suggesting future decisions involving school spending be made by Australian ballo

And to add spice to an already difficult situation, the district appear to be facing another deficit.

Still stinging from the shellacking they took on Town Meeting Day, school directors were presented with three petitions Tuesday night - one of which demands reconsideration of the devastating budget cut they suffered on the floor of last week's town meeting.

After much discussion, board members agreed to schedule a special school district meeting on Saturday, April 10 to deal with at least two of the petitioned articles: One calling for the budget revote, and the other asking voters to reconsider a proposal to adopt future school budgets using the day-long voting system that is used to settle local elections.
