Bolton Valley Snow Report - March 8, 2010 Bolton Vermont

posted at 9:15 am Mon Mar 8th, 2010 by (WherezIt_Staff)

More Fun March Skiing and Riding for Monday

After a beautiful bluebird weekend, we'll start the workweek with some more pleasant March weather. Partly to mostly cloudy skies will bring the chance for flurries throughout the day. Temperatures will remain seasonably comfortable, reaching the mid-30s again, while NW winds of 8-13mph shouldn't cause much trouble. Which is a pretty nice way to ease into a Monday.

We'll spin 4 lifts today, beginning with the Vista Quad at 9am, and Timberline at 9:30. Those lifts will serve 56 open trails, including all 3 terrain parks. Our mighty groomers will smooth out about half of those trails, once again leaving the bumps on Spillway and Show Off untouched. Surfaces remain good and deep, with firm packed powder early, softening as temps rise. And check out our deals on 2010-11 Season Passes which went on sale March 1st. If you buy next year's pass now, you can use it the rest of this season.

Our Nordic terrain continues to offer very good conditions on fast frozen granular surfaces that soften as the air warms. The machines took the night off, so we have the same 20km skate groomed and classic tracked from the weekend, with 80km of ungroomed backcountry for exploration on skis or snowshoes. The wax of the day will be Red Hard Wax or Klister. And next year's Nordic Season Passes are also now on sale.

The only thing we ever ask of March weather is comfortable temperatures and a lot of sunshine. So far, so good. And a look at the forecast suggests that this upcoming week will be more of the same. Enjoy.

The conditions below are our projections for Monday, March 8th as of 6:50am. For the latest updates on trail openings, snow surfaces, and lift status, please check our online Snow Report. And while you're over there, swing by the Photo Gallery for visual evidence of our most recent conditions.
