U.S. Sen. Patrick Leahy has a huge lead in fundraising as he seeks a seventh term, according to campaign finance reports made public Monday.
Fourth-quarter filings with the Federal Elections Commission show the veteran Democrat had $2.7 million in his campaign fund as of Dec. 31.
Democrat Daniel Freilich, a 46-year-old Wilmington physician making his first run for elected office, reported raising $28,798 in 2009's last three months, leaving him $4,701 on hand, according to his campaign filing.
