Vt. State Police - 1:10 am Mon Feb 1st, 2010
On 01/28/10, at approximately 0202 hrs Troopers from the Bradford Barracks responded to a residence on Minard Hill Rd in Groton for a reported motor vehicle collision.
It was reported that the operator had left the scene of the collision and walked to a nearby residence for assistance. The operator of the vehicle, Patrick Johnson, 31 of Lyndon, VT was transported to NVRH in St. Johnsbury for injuries received as a result of the collision.
Investigation revealed that Johnson had been traveling north on Minard Hill Rd prior to the collision, when he lost control of his vehicle. The vehicle left the west side of the roadway and rolled down an embankment, coming to rest on its left side.
As a result of the investigation Johnson was processed at NVRH for suspicion of operating his vehicle under the influence of alcohol. Criminal charges are pending at this time. The vehicle is believed to be a total loss.
