Well Mother Nature gave us a good old-fashioned beat down yesterday.

Because of this meteorological fiasco we have been forced to temporarily shut down the mountain once again today in an effort to save our snow as best we can. Roll Back the Clock Day, originally scheduled for today is not going to happen. HOWEVER, IN AN UNPRECECEDENTED MOVE ROLL BACK THE CLOCK DAY HAS BEEN RE-SCHEDULED FOR THURSDAY APRIL 1 - DON'T BE A FOOL SAVE THE DATE AND WE'LL START BUILDING UP A BASE TODAY! -WE PROMISE!. We saw some significant freezing rain on Sunday night followed by a stiff south wind, rising temps, a serious inversion, steady rain, fog, and rising stream levels yesterday (fortunately we never saw any swarms of locusts or other plagues). Weather forecasts are looking a bit more promising with a return to more seasonable temps and a few chances for snow showers over the coming days. We still have a base to work with so we should be able to re-open once the mountain has had a chance to drain. There is water running all over the hill right now. The mountain ops crew will get up on the mountain this AM to further assess the situation and this report will be updated with more details so stay tuned. With snow showers predicted we hope to rebuild our base quickly and have the skiing surfaces "buffed out" as best we can for our loyal skiers. Keep the faith MRG fans there will be plenty of powdry turns in our future. Trust me, I can feel it in my bones!. Check out the latest videos from MRG if you want to satisfy your "ski jones"! Also while the skiing is suspended why not check out Gen. Stark's Pub fancy new blog!

Happy Birthday Josh Markle
