Bruce Springsteen's Nebraska Montpelier Vermont

On Friday January 22nd at 8 p.m., Vermont musicians Joe Adler (Big Benson Beaver Band), Aaron Flinn (Salad Days), Scottt Mangan (Grass Is Greener), and Eric Segalstad (Motel Brothers, author of The 27s) will present Bruce Springsteen's brilliantly understated acoustic album "Nebraska" in its entirety at The Lamb Abbey on Pioneer Center (near the VFW). Cover is $8. Doors open at 7:30.

The quartet debuted its "Nebraska" performance December 10 at Parima's Acoustic Lounge in Burlington in front of a packed, standing room only, crowd. "I think this is one of those albums that speak to a lot people," Eric reflects on the audience reaction. "Especially in these dark economic times, Springsteen's lyrics seem to resonate as strong as when they were first sung in the early 1980s... The songs tell stories of people reaching a Rubicon in their life, a line, that when you cross it, you can never go back. You have stories of... not so pretty things in life that everybody faces but doesn't necessarily want to talk about." The show will start with short solo sets leading into the Nebraska set. The Lamb Abbey is a BYOB venue. For more information, please call 229-2200.
