Bolton Valley Snow Report - January 12, 2010 Bolton Valley Vermont

posted at 2:36 pm Tue Jan 12th, 2010 by (WherezIt_Staff)

Enjoying more than 40 inches of snow so far this month.

We continue to enjoy the benefits of over 40 inches of snow since January 1st. Conditions at Bolton Valley are some of the best around right now. The fresh, natural snow has kept our groomers soft and the skiing generally fun. As an added bonus, the trees from the base area to the top of the mountain are coated with a heavy layer of snow, providing for some of the most unique scenery winter has to offer. We'll see temps in the mid teens today with an occasional flurry under mostly cloudy skies.

We'll run with the same lift schedule as yesterday with 4 open lifts, starting with the Vista Quad at 9:00 and Timberline Quad at 9:30am. They'll be joined at 10am by Snowflake and Mitey Mite. Those lifts will serve 52 open trails, with primary surfaces of very nice machine groomed packed powder on half of them. And mark your calendar for College Day this Wednesday, when skiers and riders with a valid college ID get a full day lift ticket for just $19. Also, this weekend ski and stay packages at the Inn at Bolton Valley are just $99 per person, per night. Call 877-9BOLOTN to book.

Our Nordic terrain continues to offer very nice skiing, as well, on great packed powder surfaces. Tuesday will feature the same 20km of skate grooming and 18km of classic tracks that we set on Sunday morning. Those trails have a firm base and continue to ski well. The remaining 80km of our terrain is ungroomed, powder-rich backcountry, open for exploration on skis or snowshoes. The wax of the day will be Blue. And you can still grab a Nordic 5-day or 10-day punch card to save up to $50 this winter.

These conditions below are our projections for Tuesday, January 12th as of 6:30am. For the latest updates on trail openings, snow surfaces, and lift status, please check our online Snow Report. And while you're over there, swing by the Photo Gallery for visual evidence of our most recent conditions.
