A father and son from Weathersfield, Vermont were charged on December 27, with several violations of Fish and Wildlife laws, and a third person may face charges as well.

On 12/22/09, State Game Warden Stephen Majeski responded to a complaint from a resident of Wheeler Camp Road in Weathersfield, of a hunting shack that had been built on the property without the landowner's knowledge. Based on evidence from the investigation, Vermont State Game Wardens executed a search warrant of the residence of Jeffrey and Timothy Sargent of Wheeler Camp Road.

As a result of the ongoing investigation, Jeffrey Sargent, 46, is currently charged with hunting deer over bait, and Timothy Sargent, 18, is charged with taking wild turkeys in closed season, as well as hunting without a license. A third suspect has not yet been charged.

Arraignment is scheduled for February 9th, in Windsor District Court in White River Junction.
