Camp Fire on Goshen Road in Ripton

On 12/23/09 at approx. 1000 hrs the State Police Barracks in New Haven received a call about a fire that occurred at a camp on Goshen Road in Ripton. A gentlemen who plows the camp driveway discovered the remnants of the camp.

Given the remote location of the camp the fire was never reported to the Ripton Fire Department. The exact date of the fire is unknown. The fire occurred sometime between October 25th 2009 and December 23rd 2009.
No one was hurt in the fire and the estimated damage is approximately $15,000.00.
The cause of the fire is suspicious. It is beleived the fire was intentionally set. Anyone with information is asked to call the Vermont Arson Tip Award Program at 1-800-32 ARSON or the New Haven State Police Barracks at 3884919.
