*- We dance MANY different styles of clogging such as, old fashioned Appalachian flat foot style clogging, (Appalachian Clogging is an energetic, rhythmic dance form that is typically performed to Bluegrass music), as well as Irish jig stepping, and Buck clogging, French-Canadian clogging, and American tap dancing. Also mixing it up a bit with jazz, hip-hop, and gymnastics, and precise formations! A lot what we do is very similar to the very popular "river dancing".

Clogging is a type of folk dance that has different styles depending on where you are in the world.
Flat footing, as clogging is sometimes called in the United States, was originally an American folk dance which came from the mountains of North Carolina, Virginia, and West Virginia in the south.
Clog dancing involves wearing hard soled shoes and the tapping of the feet to the beat of music to create percussion sounds. The movements and sounds are in time to the music.

Two forms of clogging are most commonly recognized in the United States, traditional and modern.

The traditional clog dance form is the Appalachian flatfoot in which cloggers dance to live bluegrass music and string music such as the guitar, the fiddle, and or the banjo.
Modern cloggers tend to dance in groups clogging in perfect unison to recorded music. All genres of music from country to rock are a part of modern clogging.

*- Our music consists of anything from, old time folk blue grass, to Celtic music, pop, rap, classic and new country, soft rock, and classic rock, alternative, oldies, and dance mix. Just about ANYTHING! We have our own style in our choreography that makes us different than any other clogging group you will find in Vermont. We like to spice up what we do with spunk, sass, and high energy.

We will never forget where the original clogging roots started, which is why we always mix in traditional style dances in our performances.
