MONTPELIER, Vt. - The Agency of Natural Resources (ANR) Secretary Julie Moore invites the public to join her on June 25 from 4:00-5:00 pm to discuss a variety of environmental topics. The conversation will begin with a discussion on composting. The Secretary will provide more information about the universal recycling law which requires food and food scraps to be kept separate from trash by 2020, offer a recap of 2019 composting legislation, give tips for how to start composting and reducing food waste, and provide guidance for how to compost in a way that doesn't attract wildlife.
 Stowe auto repair shop sanctioned for failing to comply with court order

The Agency of Natural Resources Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) announced today that Willie Noyes, owner of Willie's Village Auto in Stowe, agreed to sanctions for failing to comply with a July 2016 court order that required the removal of junk motor vehicles from his property. The order stemmed from violations of the Vermont salvage yard rules.

The Agency of Natural Resources has issued a Request for Proposals (RFP) for Vermont's new electric school and transit bus pilot program. The RFP is the next step in launching the pilot program. Results from the program will allow the state to determine whether this technology can be applied more broadly across Vermont.
Despite a Rainy Week, State Still Grappling with Drought

According to the U.S. Drought Monitor, approximately 73% of Vermont is experiencing dry or drought conditions. Eight percent of the state, primarily in north central Vermont, is in severe drought while moderate drought conditions extend further west and south covering nearly 41% of the state.
