Vermont Agency of Natural Resources is extending the opportunity to provide public comments on a draft plan for a group of conserved lands in the Camel's Hump area of central Vermont. An additional public meeting has been scheduled for December 13 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Crossett Brook Middle School in Duxbury, VT.

Hiking and mountain biking trails converge with rock climbing and hunting spots all at Camel's Hump. When it's covered in snow, there is backcountry skiing. The iconic mountain is visible for miles around - Vermont's third-highest mountain and highest undeveloped peak. It's a habitat for wildlife and a playground for people.
Missing Hiker Located Safely in Camels Hump State Park

On 10/31/2017, at approximately 1345 hours, VT State Police responded to Camel's Hump State Park for report of a lost hiker: Peter Nardini, age 28, of Dorset, Vt. Troopers with the State Police Search and Rescue Team were assisted by Waterbury Back Country Rescue.

This is an undeveloped, FREE ENTRY state park with no phone or visitor facilities.

Some camping is allowed in Green Mountain Club shelters and lodges. See website for more details.
