Stolen Vehicle Fire - Arson


Vt. State Police - 2:55 pm Mon Dec 11th, 2006

On 9 Dec 2006 a vehicle was discovered within the Black Branch pull off at the Long Trail Parking lot within the Green Mountain National Forest in Mt. Tabor.

The vehicle had sustained major damage by fire at the time of it's discovery. Investigation revealed the vehicle was a reported stolen vehicle from Watertown Massachusetts. The Vermont State Police Fire Investigation Unit is currently working with Detectives in Watertown Massachusetts, to determine the facts surrounding this investigation. The vehicle found had been a black BMW 525I.

Anyone with any information or who may have seen this vehicle in the area on either 8 or 9 December 2006 is urged to contact Det Sgt James Cruise with the Vermont State Police at 773-9101, or the Vermont Arson Tip Award Program(VATAP) at 1-800-32-ARSON.
