Missing Person


Vt. State Police - 3:40 am Wed Nov 15th, 2006

On November 14 2006 at approximately 2030 hours the Vermont State Police responded to Mt. Tabor for a reported lost hunter.

It was determined that Walter Babcock was approximately eleven hours late meeting friends he had been hunting with on Pete Parent Peak. At approximately 0155 hours the Vermont State Police located Babcock attempting to walk out of the woods. Babcock sustained no injuries as a result of this incident and was transported home by family. The Vermont State Police were assisted on scene by K-9 teams from the Winhall Police Department and the USDA Forest Service Law Enforcement Agency.
