The Waterbury Community Band is comprised of amateur musicians, playing traditional band music (marches, overtures, musical medleys, show tumes, and popular and classical works, etc.) for a variety of community events, such as the 4th of July parades, fireworks, gatherings, and other festivals, and concerts in churches, parks, and schools. During August 1996 it is playing concerts on Wed 7th (reh. Tues 6th) with Morrisville Band at Helen Day Art Center in Stowe 7pm, Sat 10th at Caledonia County Fair, Lyndonville, at Noon with the Morrisville Band, and Thur 15th at the Berlin Health & Rehab Center, 7pm. We played a fun concert on Waterbury Reservoir performed on two pontoon boats tied together; enjoyed from shore and from about a dozen canoes .
The band plays for events outside the community for a fee. The band has members from the Exit 10 area [Waterbury Vermont USA] and surrounding countryside from as far as Williamstown and Colchester. Members are of all abilities, and anyone playing an instrument, no matter how rusty you or it might be, are welcome. Call Brian Harwood, President, 244-5331, or firstname.lastname@example.org (e-mail), to join, or to hire the band for a reasonable fee.
