Sobriety Checkpoints in Washington County

Vt. State Police - 9:13 am Fri Nov 10th, 2006

In the coming weeks Vermont State Police in Middlesex along with area Police Departments will be conducting multiple roadside Sobriety Checkpoints in the Washington County area.

This is an attempt to reduce the number of impaired drivers and alcohol related crashes and to further promote traffic safety.

An aggressive effort will be made to identify impaired drivers on our highways. Law Enforcement Officers will also be enforcing seatbelt, child restraint and other motor vehicle laws during these checkpoints.

The Vermont State Police reminds everyone to use their safety belts, utilize a designated sober driver, and never drink and drive.
