Remember Senator Jim Jeffords?

He did a great favor to all of us when he reminded us that the Republican party changed radically in the last decade.

Darren M. Allen in a recent article in the Times Argus, DID NOT CONSIDER that change, as he compared some of the Republican candidates to Sen. George Akien, Bob Stafford and Flanders of a generation ago.

Present Republicans try to compare themselves to earlier Republicans, so as candidates, might have a better chance of getting elected to public office. And if they win, most probably they will support the present Bush, Cheney, Rove regime to create deeper and deeper problems for USA and the world. Republicans usually vote unanimously to destroy Social Security, lower wages, more tax cuts for wealthy people, rights to more pollution, and much more. In the past, Republicans declared that Democrats were big spenders and created big government. This Bush government has caused the biggest government and debt and more problems to solve.

Candidates Rainville and Tarrant in their campaigns emphasize that they can work with Republicans or Democrats. However we know that the Republican agenda is very string and members are forced to vote Republican. There were situations months ago that concerned health bills. Final voting in the Congress was delayed for hours to change a few no votes to yes votes to create Republican goals. Who knows what threats, arm twisting were used.
